Is this India's big education revolution?

“……we are thinking about eliminating the concept of 10th board exams. And also working on the plan to make only one single board for 12th exams, we are talking to state boards about this matter….”

Hello folks…I think that you all must have been somehow heard the news regarding the Proposal of elimination of 10th Boards. Above lines are some words from the statement of our Union Minister “Mr. Kapil Sibbal”. Last night I was listening to the repeat telecast of his interview with Barkha Dutt at NDTV 24x7.I found this topic interesting and tried to write something on this topic, because its only about one month before I have seen my 10th board result. And I bet my classmates must be thinking about why this proposal has not been passed last year??? What do you think? Will this concept work? Let us discuss it here….!

  1. Elimination of 10th Board Concept :- There are two faces of coin. Same is the concept with students. This Decision can nourish the life of some(read, few) students who are overburdened with studies and always feel the pressure of scoring in 90s and who are crushed under exam stress. But what about those guys who never take studies seriously? Can this decision change their “Who cares!” attitude? Seriously I don’t think so. At least at the 11th hour they also start studying somehow, maybe by feeling the Board Pressure or anything else. But if a strict alternative comes for replacing the Boards then I wish that it would be fine.
  2. Single Board for 12th Exams:- I openly appreciate this Proposal of HRD Minister Kapil Sibbal. This proposal, if passed, would be very vital for those who change their board to CBSE from ICSE or any other state Boards and vice-versa. Because Students are guided by teacher that Bla-Bla board is not good for further studies, so you should change your board…But the problem is that most of the maths stream students are IIT aspirants or they think of clearing at least AIEEE. And these exams are mainly dependent on the course of CBSE pattern. So student experiences difficulties about changing the school. He is not guided well that where to go or where not to go. Even I am a victim of such Pressure. Here at Jabalpur Coaching deny to teach the students of ICSE board. They clarify that ICSE has much more syllabus then needed for competitive examination.

So it would be better if some efficient alternatives are being implemented after taking these decisions. Hope you like my Post.
